In November, Volt sold 1,139 cars to Leaf’s 672, according to the National Automobile Dealers Association point out. However, Nissan points out they are well ahead of Volt in overall sales this year.
Through November, Nissan has sold 8,720 Leafs to Chevy’s sale of 6,142 Volts. Now, with all the publicity about the Volt’s batteries heating up or catching fire after crashes, could momentum shift back to the Leaf. It’s yet to be seen whether consumers care much about fires that don’t occur until days or weeks after a serious crash.
